ZON TV Cabo, a subsidiary of ZON Multimedia and the largest triple-play operator in Portugal, and Jungo Ltd., a company of NDS Group and a leading provider of gateway software, today announced the introduction of the ZON HUB ™ Home- and business gateways known in Portugal. The new gateways are based on Jungo's middleware solutions OpenRG ™ and OpenSMB ™ and the software JRMS ™ (Jungo Remote Management System) and the service package SCR ™ (Support Cost Reduction). The development of the product offering was only six months to complete; took place as scheduled in December 2009 the launch.
The new gateways form the basis of the triple-play offerings of ZON TVCabo; They are already scheduled in late March 2010 the most commonly used triple-play gateways present in the Portuguese market.
