The lagoon area of the Ria Formosa was in the selection of the natural wonders of the Algarve in the category of "Zonas Marinhas" as the winner.
In the selection, in which 660.000 Eligible voters participating, was total in 7 Categories vote.
Two first places went to the Azores, Madeira was chosen for its laurel forest as a winner.
The "Pontal" in Carrapateira went to the West Coast unfortunately empty.
At a gala event in the Azores, Samsatg the evening was broadcast on television, The results were then solemnly proclaimed.
