An 271 Beaches in Portugal blows 2011 the "Blue Flag"

271 Beaches have been this year with the "Bandeira azul", Blue Flag award, which is more than ever before: “For the first time surpassed the number of beaches, the number chosen 250. This is a record “, remarked Joseph Archer, the President of the European Blue Flag.
The quality label for clean beaches with high water quality is solely in the Algarve 74 Beaches, five more than last year. Thus, the Algarve is also 2011 again the region in the country with the most recommended beaches.
10 Beaches lost because of poor quality, the "Bandeira azul" again. 12 not been excellent, have been added.
For the past 25 Years investigating the "Associação Bandeira Azul da Europa" the quality of beaches in Europe by the following criteria: Wasserqualität, Facilities Beaches, Information, Environmental education, Freizeitprogrammangebot.

In the Algarve 74 Awards follows the northern region 63, Tejo region 45, the Alentejo 22 and the Centre 18. The Azores are pleased with 33 blue flags and Madeira 14.
